About the Book

Written like advice from a friend who's been there

The Performance Anxiety Cure is a plain-spoken action plan for men whose bodies work fine until a partner is in the room.

Most writing on performance anxiety comes in two flavors. One is clinical and careful and leaves you with a list of terms but nothing to do on Friday night. The other is a sales page for pills, powders and pelvic-floor routines that treat a fear problem like a plumbing problem.

Sean Stephens wrote this book to fill the gap between them. It explains the mechanics of the fear loop in simple language, then spends most of its pages on what to do: what to say to a partner before anything starts, how to handle the moment she reacts badly, how to get past the transitions where erections tend to fade, and how to stop treating every encounter like a test.

Who it's for

The book is written for men who can get erections on their own but lose them, or worry about losing them, with a partner. It speaks directly to guys who have started avoiding dating or hookups because the fear of failing feels worse than missing out.

If your erection problems happen in every situation, including alone, that points to something physical, and the right first step is a conversation with your doctor. The book draws that line clearly in its opening chapter.

What makes it different

It starts by telling you there is no cure, then explains why that's good news. Performance anxiety isn't something you remove by force. It fades when you stop feeding it, and the chapters show you how to stop feeding it in real situations with real people.

It's also honest about the uncomfortable stuff: fetishes and turn-ons, condoms, the night she cries because she thinks it's her fault, and how medication can help when a doctor approves it, as a temporary support rather than a permanent crutch.

About Sean Stephens

Sean Stephens writes about the mental side of sex for men who are tired of being told to eat more watermelon. His approach is direct and practical: name the fear, explain how it works, and give men specific things to say and do in the moments where it shows up.
